Widely available across Europe and America, Deep Tissue Laser Therapy (DTL) or clinically known as Photobiomodulation, is a pain free, non-invasive treatment that uses clinically tested wavelengths of light to stimulate the cells within the tissue damage. This interaction triggers a biological series of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism and a decrease in both pain and inflammation.
Like plants absorbing sunlight through photosynthesis, cells in the body absorb laser energy that stimulate the body to release pain relieving compounds, increasing circulation and energizes the cells to participate in the healing process.
Deep Tissue Laser Therapy is used to treat acute and chronic conditions as well as post-surgery recovery. It is particularly effective when it is administered as soon as possible following injury (assuming there is no active haemorrhaging). The faster the inflammation in the soft tissue is reduced, the faster the healing process can begin, the better the outcome.
In the case of acute injury, DTL Therapy helps restore the body to normal functions quicker. With chronic conditions, DTL Therapy is used most often to help combat persistent pain and inflammation. As a non-drug solution, laser therapy quickly reduces inflammation and pain without the side effects of medication and downtime of surgery.
